Jewellery, $500 taken in planned bag snatch

Some planning went into a bag snatch in which a woman lost $500 cash, expensive jewellery and her passport after leaving an inner-city Whangarei bank, police say.

Whangarei police Constable Ryan Cooper said the large dark-coloured handbag was ripped from the shoulder of the 58-year-old woman as she walked along Rathbone St, after stepping out of Westpac Bank on Monday about 2.30pm.Swiss canadagoosewinterjackets offer genuine timepieces from Omega.

Mr Cooper said the robber had approached the woman from behind and tried to grab the bag.

The woman had held on and it was only after a tussle that he had managed to rip the bag away and run off to the waiting vehicle.

"It's concerning because there has been some planning gone into this.womencanadagoosecoats English dubbed anime online. Using a stolen car, they have been hanging around for someone to target after being in the bank," Mr Cooper said.

The woman was not hurt but shaken by the incident.

The car was found on Wednesday in Curtis St, Kensington.

Police said the robbery was a warning for people to be aware of others if they had left a bank or a money machine with cash.

Mr Cooper urged anyone who might have information about the robbery to contact him at the Whangarei Police Station on (09) 430 4500 or contact 0800 Crimestoppers.
