Area shoppers swarm Target; snatch up Jason Wu fashions

Pregame starts early for some.Offering a huge selection of chloehandbag online store.

Shoppers keen to own pieces from Jason Wu's collection for Target headed to the Highland Park location, 2099 Skokie Valley Road, just shy of 7 a.m. on Feb. 5.

Bonnie Rischmann, 16, of Highland Park won the race as she was first in line. Elise Klein of Glencoe and Bargie Zechman of Highland Park wasn't far behind, but Zechman smartly brought husband Jim as her second-string shopper.

"I got up early and checked the site and eBay," Klein said. "Then I wondered why I was reading the paper at home when I could read it in line."

Klein came with a game plan, and wasn't leaving her sartorial Jason Wu choices to chance.

"I want the trench coat, because I want to look like Pippa Middleton," she said.

The line was four deep at 7:30 a.m.Buy cheap high quality monclerjacketswomens Watches, but swelled to more than 30 in the minutes before the store opened at 8 a.m.

Cindy Kang of Vernon Hills went the distance from her home in Vernon Hills to score the pieces she wasn't able to snag online in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

"This store has the full range, and I wasn't able to get the striped poplin dress online,,authenticlouisvuittonhandbag for sale lowest price $50." she said.

Sisters Denise and Michelle Galiano also made the drive from Vernon Hills for first crack at the designer line.

"It's perfect for spring, very fun and flirty," Denise said. "I really want the bags though."

"She's more prepared than me," Michelle said.

Right before the doors opened, Target store team lead and Jason Wu referee Dominic Colosimo gave shoppers a pep talk complete with directions to both the clothes and accessories. And a stern warning: walk. Those who wore their sprinting shoes would be asked to leave.

"We have $10,000 of product on the floor," Colosimo said. "And what we have is out there. There is one amazing online store with 100s of chloehandbags ."

When the doors opened, Colosimo sent shoppers in waves of 10.

The gals charged the shopping field — at as brisk a stride as they could — toward the six racks of clothes and one display of bags.

Shoppers who didn't secure a top spot in line were out of luck with the handbags, as only a sole striped canvas tote remained after the initial blitz.

And those looking for dresses in small sizes had to be quick. The black flared dress with the nude patent belt went first, with the navy striped poplin dress Kang coveted a close second.

It only took 15 minutes before Target staffers consolidated racks and removed the Jason Wu signage. What remained were large sizes of single items: a black trench coat, the sleeveless pleated shift dress and pleated shirts in blue.

Vernon Hills High School junior Mia Rubin, 18, checked out with about $300 worth of Jason Wu togs. The young fashionista was quite pleased with her plan of attack.

"We came to Highland Park because we felt this would be the best stock," she said. "I pretty much got everything I wanted, except the black dress. I've calmed down now, but in the beginning it was tense.SocialPicks is tracking the performance of canadagoosewinterjackets ."

Her friend and Wu teammate, Kacy Galisdorfer, 18, outlined the strategy the teens came up with on the drive to the store.

"We tag-teamed. Her mom went for the purses," Galisdorfer said. "We just grabbed as many extra smalls and smalls as we could."

Being first in line did have its advantage. Klein secured trench coats — in both black and navy.

"I came specifically for the coat," she said. "And now I have two ways to look like Pippa."
