Acne's Cult Following

Acne hit the fashion scene over a decade ago with no-nonsense jeans that became a synonym for cool. The Swedish label may seem a long way from those raw denim days, with collections that are now as conceptual as they are material.
Their fall 2012 collection, shown Sunday night in London, played with fabric and volume, combining red leather, fur and abstract camouflage in a kind of urban uniform, stuffing oversized tops and jackets into trousers and cinching it all with utilitarian belts.

But for creative director Jonny Johansson,This was a fraction of pradahandbag in Beverly Hills. it's all part of the same vision that the brand started with in 1996. We caught up with him after the show, as lingering guests drank Red Stripe and chatted over music in the warehouse space.
Acne has a kind of cult following. Is that something you cultivate or something that has developed organically?

Mr. Johansson: It's really hard to talk about what you do yourself. But I think there's something human in what we do, there's something imperfect that I think some people are really attracted to, and that's why maybe we have this following.
How would you describe your aesthetic to someone who wasn't a follower?

Mr. Johansson: I would be very simple. For me,Read reviews of Australias top discountcoachhandbags from our user community. it's about building characters. It's about eclecticism. It's about things that don't belong together. It's about pop. Pop is so important. I always think pop when it comes to fashion.Welcome to authenticsunglasses In Nyc on Facebook.Burglar walks away with guccihandbagsreplica from Summit home.
Your label isn't just fashion. It includes other areas of design like your Acne Paper magazine. We invite you to visit our latest collection of monclerouterwear. Do you see that as an extension of your brand?

Mr. Johansson: The thing is, this time for instance we started with Acne Paper. The research for Acne Paper was “The Body Within Art” and then some of the photographers and some of the artists started talking to us and started to cut the fabric like a photographer that we liked, and so it went. So it has a really big importance internally. Not only externally.
As a Swedish brand, why do you choose to show in London?
Mr. Johansson: I mean it would be really difficult in Stockholm, actually, because to attract that sort of press would be almost impossible.
