Partnering with similar nonprofits like the Red Auberbach Youth Foundation and the Play Ball! Foundation, Dream Big! has helped programs, teams and individuals, from starting a double dutch team at a Boston middle school to providing sneakers for an elementary school running club.
“We grew much quicker than anticipated. We started about a year-and-a-half ago and we’ve already impacted 1,000 girls in our first year,” Driscoll said.

The idea for the organization began while Driscoll was working for the New England Women’s Fund handling grants.
“I always thought about doing this, but it came to fruition [because] it was unbelievable the things people were asking for [through grant funding],” Driscoll said. “There was a girls basketball team in Boston who would play their games after a boys basketball team and take their sweaty uniforms and have to put them on because they couldn’t afford new uniforms. That was the one grant that actually made me start this. I was thinking in my head that there were a hundred people I know that would buy them uniforms if they knew this story.”
